SCHOOL

ORGANIZATIONS

The OPPORTUNITY

The DCWM provides each of the Seycove Family of Schools a table at no cost. This allocated space is as an opportunity to:

  • raise funds for each each school

  • have a presence in the community

  • foster student volunteerism + leadership

  • participate in fundraising + the entrepreneurial experience

To ensure your fundraising opportunity aligns with the purpose of the DCWM your approved fundraiser needs to:

  • support a local business, ideally a smaller to medium business

  • have eco forward packaging and presentation as much as possible

  • follow our vendor guidelines and sell only sell one type of item

  • have a single parent from your school group as the sole point of contact to liase with the DCWM

FAQS:

WHAT CAN WE SELL?

Every vendor or community group can sell ONLY sell one type of item. Similar to our juried vendors/artists who pay for their spot at the DCWM we allow only one category of merchandise/art per vendor. We do this to prevent over saturation at the market in respective categories and to help ensure every vendor is successful by reducing any overlap on what is being sold.

WHAT WILL YOUR GROUP NEED TO PROVIDE?

Decor, signage, table cloth, means of payment (square is the most popular) and connection/data. There is no WIFI. A table and chairs will be provided at no cost. A max of 4 people at your table volunteering at any one time. Vendors are only allowed 2 people; however to foster student volunteerism we recognize there may be supervision required.

WHEN IS SET UP?

Friday between 430 and 6pm. Friday set up is preferred as 50+ vendors arrive as early as 730am Saturday morning to line up for 8am entry. We extend an early Friday set up to our inner circle/community + school groups only (not vendors) so please keep this on the down low. Your merchandise will be safe overnight. If you can not make Friday please notify us in advance. Saturday set up is 8am to 930am and your table needs to be ready to go at 930am

HOW DO WE ARRANGE PICK UP AT THE MARKET?

If you have arranged a pre-order pick up for your fundraiser please be aware there is a $5 entry fee to the market (this will not be waived). We charge $5 for entry tickets for attendees 18 to 64 years.  The $5 is a nominal charge for cost recovery to run the market. We donate surplus funds to several community organizations.

PLEASE DO NOT RUN ITEMS OUTSIDE TO PEOPLE AS THIS CLOGS UP THE ENTRY/EXIT DOORS.

HOW CAN WE PROMOTE THE MARKET + MAKE IT A SUCCESS?

Please help spread the word. The DCWM has provided your school group with digital images to advertise through your school newsletter and social channels. Please take advantage of this. Bring a positive attitude that supports the markets messaging of "community over competition". Please spread the word within your circles to promote attendance at the DCWM which in turns guarantees we are all successful.
