The Deep Cove Winter Market is once again welcoming back our Junior Makers section — with a few fresh updates!
 

As this part of the market has grown in popularity, we’ve fine-tuned the guidelines to better support our community.

These new criteria will help us continue to showcase young makers in the best possible way.
Applications are open to Junior Makers who meet the following criteria:
 

• Are in grade 7 through grade 12

• Create or design the work themselves (handmade, original, and not mass-produced)

• Can manage their booth with minimal help from an adult

• Are ready to engage with customers and share their creative story

• Offer products that reflect the values of our market — quality, creativity, and a light footprint on Mother Earth

• Follow the 90–10 rule: the maker does 90% of the work, with parents offering up to 10% help

• Junior Makers must have enough product for the day (10am - 3pm) see below for more details

• Junior Makers will be limited to one creative category. For example, a Jr Maker can not create macrame and greeting cards, they are limited to one or the other. This aligns with our paid artisan vendors and helps ensure success for everyone 

• To maintain variety, we limit the number of Junior Makers offering the same type of craft and may request adjustments to ensure a balanced selection and success for all participants

Changes to market day include:

• no body care and no food items for sale

• full day attendance required 10 - 3 pm

• set up between 8:30 - 9:45am market day

• each Junior Makers has an allocated space for the entire the day

• $25 vendor fee​

• due to limited space we MAY have to institute a lottery with accepted applicantions
