Jr Makers

Support our future makers. The DCWM focus is on community and supporting our Junior Makers grade 7 through grade 12.

Our market leans into eco-conscious awareness and lightening our footprint on Mother earth.  We are happy to feature fresh talent at our market and we are looking to future makers to show us how to repurpose and truly know what it is to be green.

JR MAKER FAQS

Q: What should I bring for payment and sales?
A: Bring your own payment method and float. You may accept cash, e-transfer, or another method. Some makers donate proceeds to a charity or split profits between personal and charitable causes. Choose whichever approach works for you.

Q: What size is my table and what do I need to bring for setup?
A: Each Junior Maker receives one table measuring 2.5 x 4 feet. Bring your own tablecloth and décor. Ensure all items fit comfortably within this space.

Q: What time should I arrive and be ready?
A: Be fully set up and ready by 9:45 AM. The market opens at 10 AM. Arriving early allows you to shop from other vendors before the public arrives.

Q: How should I dress for the market?
A: Dress professionally and represent yourself as an artisan. Presentable attire and a tidy display are required.

Q: Can I leave my table during the day?
A: Yes. You may take short breaks. A parent, Keaton, or a neighboring Jr Maker can watch your table temporarily. Volunteers can also assist so you can eat or visit the food trucks. Do not eat at your table.

Q: What are the market hours?
A: The Junior Maker section runs from 10 AM to 3 PM.

Q: How many Junior Makers are participating this year?
A: Over 15 Junior Makers will have individual tables. There are no shared tables this year.

Q: What are the market’s environmental guidelines?
A: Use eco-conscious materials for packaging and display. Avoid single-use plastics wherever possible. Reuse, recycle, and reduce waste.

Q: Where do I park and unload?
A: Unload your items at the third and top parking lot at Seycove (see map). After unloading, move your vehicle to Strathcona Road and take Nora’s Walk to the back lot where the market is held.

Q: Is there a pre-event meeting?
A: Yes. A Zoom call will be held on Wednesday, November 12 at 7 PM, hosted by Junior Maker Coordinator Keaton Schisler. The session will review setup details and answer questions.

Q: How can I promote the market?
A: Follow and tag @deepcovewintermarket on Instagram and share covecommunitymarket.com. Support your fellow makers and embody the “community over competition” spirit
